Even the minor plotlines are what make this series shine-- such as Annubis, the dog-god investigating the realm of dead pets, which is called--are you ready?--the Furafter. My son and I can both agree these are great stories!
One thing to keep in mind, these stories are a bit wordy for a child under five or a child with a short attention span, so if you need a shorter story buy the I CAN READ Batman Classics :) They have good stories and pictures as well, just a bit shorter and with smaller words for younger super hero fans :).
