Editorial : About the Author This is the first book of Mother Gail Fitzpatrick, OCSO, the Abbess of our Lady of the Mississippi Abbey, Dubuque, Iowa. She is well-knows and respected in American monastic circles as a thoughtful and holy leader. The Foreword is written by Kathleen Norris a friend of the Mississippi Abbey and the author of several books, including the best-selling Cloister Walk and Amazing Grace.

The reflections are divided into the four seasons of the calendar year with many references to the liturgical seasons. Each reflection is followed by an original prayer.
