Some of these are just basic art lessons, such as sketching things by observing nature, painting birds, decorating a jar for holding paintbrushes, and making a small picture frame. A very well written book. It is a truly contemporary, multi-media presentation of Alexander's ideas and I believe that helps to make it a wonderful resource for both the curious musician and non-musician.
I agree with other reviewers here, that Alcantara's writing style is warm, personal, and non-judgmental in a way that very much channels the spirit of an Alexander lesson. At 220 pp, this is an easy read over a few days.
If you're interested in understanding science from strings at 10E-35 meters to the size/age of the universe, you'll enjoy this book. He was weak. Rafael grows so much in this book, his transformation takes him from a hunky side kick to the true hero of the piece. Would not recommend this book.. squirm failure, etc.)
