Editorial : About the Author Sudhakar Nair has taught aircraft structures for over 30 years at the Illinois Institute of Technology. He is a Fellow of ASME, Associate Fellow of AIAA, Member of ASEE, Sigma Xi, as well as Tau Beta Pi. He has authored numerous articles on structural mechanics and applied mathematics and is the author of two previous textbooks Introduction to Continuum Mechanics and Advanced Topics in Applied Mathematics for Engineering and Physical Sciences. He was Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, Department Chair and Chair of the Faculty Council at the Illinois Institute of Technology. He received the Barnett award for the best teacher and a special commendation from the AIAA student chapter at IIT.
This textbook treats solids and fluids in a balanced manner, using thermodynamic restrictions on the relation between applied forces and material responses. This unified approach can be appreciated by engineers, physicists, and applied mathematicians with some background in engineering mechanics. It has many examples and about 150 exercises for students to practice. The higher mathematics needed for a complete understanding is provided in the early chapters. This subject is essential for engineers involved in experimental or numerical modeling of material behavior.
No regrets for buying this book.. I would like to see a follow up to this book for advanced licensors!. Even Ram(a), considered to be an ideal man, the greatest spiritual figure in Indian lore, made questionable decisions. I could not put it down. This would be a monumental achievement for anyone; it is absolutely amazing for someone who grew up poor and abused in The Bronx.. So what of K? In the Lutyens booklet he admits to having a relationship with Rosalind. I find myself constantly scratching my head wondering why a step was performed in a derivation, or how the author knows a stated relation to be true. hyperelastic materials,12. Their greatness is not in the absence of, but despite their failings. He has long lingered in the shadow of his famous father and it is somewhat surprising to discover that he had some fine qualities. I'd say it's a great option for an MFA class, or any advanced student of fine art that wants to learn about the lasting affects of 90's art, which has yet t
