Tupelo, MS (birthplace of Elvis!). (I would have thrown in the 1949 Plymouth, but would have been wrong!!!) This author has a lot of insight and knowledge- I will be rereading this book.. Despite a boom in licensing and totally new markets exploding for licensed artwork and design (especially with opportunities for American and European artists, designers and industrial designers now working directly with Chinese manufacturers), this old tome is unfortunately still one of the better books available for the creative/businessperson. Fair b/w photography. The concepts are well grounded and thoroughly researched. The other major thread, his coming out odyssey and how it relates to the safer emotional spaces he now tries to live in, reads beautifully. He was educated in Brussels as a commercial engineer, but in 1946 discovered motorsports, winning his class in the first motorcycle race he entered on a pre-war 500-cc Triumph twin.
